Filler

When Will I See the Results?

With filler, the results are instant however; optimum results will be seen within 2 weeks

Do’s and Don’ts Following Treatment:

  • Do avoid getting too hot 48 hours after treatment, e.g. strenuous exercise, drinking alcohol, sun beds, sauna, steam room.

  • This is to avoid the risk of increased swelling and bruising. If you want, you can apply a cool compress to the injection point to help soothe any discomfort or swelling.

  • Don’t touch the area for 6 hours after treatment. This is to avoid the risk of infection.

  • Don’t apply make-up or have a spray tan for 6 hours after treatment.

  • This is to avoid the risk of infection.

  • Don’t have facial massages, facial electrical stimulation, derma roller, semi-permanent make-up, or microdermabrasion for 3 weeks after your treatment, and not until your treatment has fully healed. This is to avoid moving the filler.

Side Effects and Complications:

You might get a bruise following treatment. This is normal. This should go away within 10 days, but it might take longer. Arnica gel can be used to help reduce bruising and will be supplied after your treatment.

You might get swelling, especially with a lip treatment. This should go within the first week after treatment. You can apply a cool compress to the area.

Some tenderness is normal following treatment. If you have bad pain, please call us immediately on 0131 629 0830 or 07729 237 592.

If your skin is near white where you were injected, please call us immediately on 0131 629 0830 or 07729 237 592.

If you had redness on your nose following non-surgical rhinoplasty, please call us immediately on 0131 629 0830 or 07729 237 592 and we will book you a follow-up appointment with the nurse.

Lumps are a fairly common side effect following filler treatment, particularly on the lips. If the lump is tender it’s probably a bruise under the skin and you should wait for the tenderness to go. If the lump is not tender and there is no discolouration, you can massage it by doing small circular motions over the lump for one minute, twice a day. If the lump does not go call us on 0131 629 0830 or 07729 237 592 and we will book you a follow-up appointment with the nurse.

Filler Reversal

Preparation:

You may want to book this procedure on a day when you will not return to work for the rest of the day.

14 Days Before – Avoid chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or laser treatments (anything that causes skin irritation).

7 Days Before – Avoid blood-thinning medications like ASA (aspirin), ibuprofen (e.g. Motrin, Advil), naproxen (Aleve), herbal supplements (e.g. garlic, ginseng, ginkgo Biloba, St. John’s Wort, omega-3) and vitamin E.

24 Hours Before – Do not drink alcohol.

What To Expect:

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that is injected into your skin or lips for the purpose of dissolving any existing hyaluronic acid dermal filler.

You will likely have swelling, temporary bumps, redness, bruising, and tenderness over the treated areas.

You will notice your natural hyaluronic acid may be affected, but your body will replenish this in 3-4 days.

Some people experience a dull ache, and continued tenderness, which subsides between 2-3 days.

Bruising is expected and usually most obvious on treatment day for around 2-7 days, and then gradually fades over 7-14 days. Some rare bruising may last longer than two weeks.

After Your Treatment:

For 90 minutes, do not apply makeup over the injected area (risk of infection)

Only touch the injected area with clean hands, clean makeup tools, and clean towels

Apply a cold compress for 5 min x 5 times a day x 5 days if needed Do not touch the treated area unless directed to by your injector For the rest of the day, avoid pressure on the injected areas

For the rest of the day, avoid alcohol, strenuous exercise, exposure to UV radiation, and high-heat environments

For the next two weeks, avoid facial massages or stimulation to the face. Wait until your injector advises you to receive any new dermal filler in the area

Botox

When Will I See The Results?

  • Your initial results will appear within 2-5 days.
  • Results continue to improve for up to 14 days when the results will be at their maximum.

Do’s and Don’ts Following Treatment:

  • Do remain upright for 2 hours after the treatment. This is to avoid pressure in the area and to avoid increased blood flow, which might cause the Botox to be dispersed and therefore not last as long.
  • Do move the areas that were injected for the first hours after treatment by making different facial expressions. This helps Botox reach the calls it needs in order to work.
  • Do avoid getting too hot 48 hours after treatment (strenuous exercise, alcohol, sun beds, saunas etc.). This is because heat causes increased blood flow, which might cause the Botox to be dispersed & therefore not last as long.
  • Don’t apply makeup or have a spray tan 6 hours after the treatment. This is to avoid infection.
  • Don’t apply pressure when cleansing your face. Use gentle strokes away from your eyes. This is to avoid preventing Botox to reach the cells it needs in order to work.
  • Don’t wear tight caps/garments in the area that has been injected. This is to avoid preventing Botox to reach the cells it needs in order to work.
  • Don’t have facial massages, facial electric stimulation, derma roller, and semi-permanent make-up, laser treatments, or microdermabrasion for 2 weeks after your treatment.

Side Effects and Complications:

  • It is very common to get a small tender red lump where you were injected. This should go within 48 hours after treatment.
  • You might get a bruise and/or redness following treatment. This is normal. This should go within 10 days but it might take longer. Arnica gel can help to reduce bruising. You will receive this after your treatment.
  • A small proportion of people suffer from headaches or flu-like symptoms following Botox. These can be treated in the normal way with over-the-counter painkillers.

How Long Does Botox Last?

  • Generally, it lasts between 3-4 months. It can be longer for some people.
Jet Plasma Pen

As with most skin rejuvenation treatments, you may experience some side effects following a Plasma Pen treatment. However, the post-treatment downtime and recovery from a Plasma Pen device are far superior to other treatments with reduced downtime and faster recovery times.

Our Plasma Pen device allows specialist Plasma Pen technicians to work very quickly and efficiently whilst also minimizing the potential discomfort.

How to Care for Your Skin for the First 7 days:

For the first 7 days following a Plasma Pen treatment, it is normal for your skin to feel quite tight and dry, or you may experience very slight and occasional weeping that will settle over time. Small Plasma carbon crusts will form on the treated area, and these will be visible for up to a week or so before naturally flaking off.

To Care for Your Skin Following a Plasma Pen Treatment, We Recommend the Following;

  • Don’t pick as this will delay the healing process, and can cause scarring. Cleanse the area daily with lukewarm water, and a soft cloth to remove excess oil.
  • Apply Arnica Gel or Aloe Vera up to three times a day.
  • Avoid applying lotions and creams that contain perfumes or alcohol.  Don’t use exfoliating products on the treated area as this may result in scarring.
  • If you have had a Plasma Pen treatment around the eyes, avoid wearing contact lenses for 72 hours.

How to Look After Your Skin for the First 3 Months:

After the first 7-days, you should find that the carbon crusts have naturally fallen off. However, your skin may be a little pink as it is essentially fresh, new and rejuvenated skin. Once the Plasma carbon crusts have fallen off you are now able to start applying your normal makeup, but avoid using all other skincare products that contain glycolic or exfoliating ingredients. We also recommend;

  • Once the Plasma carbon crusts have fallen off, you must now begin to apply SPF 50+ sunscreen every day whilst your skin is healing, and for at least 12 weeks.
  • Avoid saunas, and sun beds for up to 12 weeks during the healing period. Avoid all other aesthetic or surgical treatments in the same area for at least 12 weeks whilst the skin is healing.
Profhilo
  • Immediately after the treatment, there may be slight redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness or an itching sensation in the treated area. These reactions are temporary and generally disappear in a few days. If it continues or if other reactions occur, please contact your clinician.
  • Avoid touching the treatment area for 6 hours after the treatment. After that, the area can be washed with a gentle cleanser and sterile make-up can be applied.
  • Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (e.g. solarium and sunbathing) or extreme cold.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise and swimming to avoid a risk of infection.
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before and after treatment.
  • Apply SPF 50 sunscreen
  • Please discuss any further cosmetic procedures with your practitioner.
  • Do not massage or manipulate the treated area.
  • Stay hydrated.
  • Schedule your next visit.
Viscoderm Hydrobooster
  • Immediately after treatment, it is likely there will be some redness, swelling, tenderness and perhaps an itching sensation in the treated areas. This is a normal result of the injections. These symptoms are temporary and generally disappear within a few days.
  • Preferably don’t touch the treated area for 6 hours after your treatment.
  • Mineral makeup may be applied immediately and other makeup after 6 hours.
  • Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (e.g. sun beds, saunas, sunbathing) or extreme cold.
  • There is likely to be some initial improvement visible (the superficial stretch property of the product) immediately however the dual actions of this product mean that the full benefits take several weeks to show, as the deep tissue hydration and stimulation take time to have their effect. In some patients, a second treatment at 8 weeks will be necessary. As this treatment necessitates lots of injection points in vascular areas, bruising is more common after this treatment.
  • A small amount of Arnica Gel may be applied to any bruises up to 4 times daily.
  • Antihistamines may be taken to reduce any swelling.
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.
  • If you have any concerns, please contact us at any time.
Skin Booster
  • Avoid touching the areas for 2 hours following your treatment.
  • It is best to keep out of the sun for 7 days after using Jalupro treatment.
  • For the next 24 hours, don’t use any powder or makeup.
  • For the next 24 hours, avoid intense exercise or conditions that can cause excessive sweating.
  • For 72 hours, stay away from swimming pools, hot tubs, and saunas.
  • Sleep in an elevated posture the first night if you administered the therapy on your skin and neck regions.
  • As much air as possible should pass through your face.
  • Drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol. This will keep you hydrated and allow the epidermal solution to operate effectively on your skin.
Fat Dissolving Injections

At Home Next Steps:

  • You will likely see results immediately after your treatment and your skin will feel smooth and hydrated for 1 to 4 weeks.
  • For improved, longer-lasting results, consider take-home products and monthly Hydrafacial treatments.
  • The treatment area is more susceptible to sunburn, sun damage and hyperpigmentation. Avoid direct sun exposure and use a minimum SPF 40 sun cream.
  • Aggressive exfoliation, waxing and products containing acids should be avoided in the treatment area for a minimum of 2 weeks pre and post- treatment.
  • Avoid the use of Retin-A-type products pre and post-treatment.
PDO Threads

Do’s and Don’ts:

  • It is common to feel some tugging and soreness in the treated area.
  • These feelings will diminish over a week or two.
  • You can apply a cool compress in 10-minute increments over the first 24 hours to reduce swelling.
  • You can use Arnica gel for the bruising. The bruising will dissipate over the next 7-14 days depending on your individual healing process.
  • Sleep on your back (if possible) for the next 2 days to prevent movement of the threads.
  • You can return to your skincare routine after 24 hours.
  • There may be discomfort and tightness in the area for several days however this will decrease over time. You can take Paracetamol/Ibuprofen as per the recommended guidelines.
  • Contact your injector if you develop any new or worsened swelling, tenderness, warmth, or redness in the treated area, or if you’re experiencing any discharge from the entry point(s).
  • Try to eat a soft diet for 1-week post-treatment.
  • Apply SPF 50 for 2 weeks after treatment to avoid post-treatment inflammatory pigmentation in the areas of thread insertion.
  • Don’t massage the area or receive a deep facial massage for the next 2 months.
  • Don’t smoke or consume alcohol for 1-2 weeks. Doing so will slow down the healing process.
  • Don’t make exaggerated facial expressions for about 2-3 weeks. Avoid aggressive or prolonged chewing, wide yawning, or smiling too large for up to 1 month.
  • Avoid dental work for 4 weeks.
Skin Pen Microneedling
  • You should avoid touching the area or applying any products to the skin for 24 hours in order to prevent infection.
  • Post-treatment Skin fuse LIFT HG can be applied to help soothe the area.
  • After 24 hours Skin fuse RESCUE Calming complex can be used to help support the remodeling of the skin.
  • The treatment area can be red and warm with possible pinpricked bleeding for 24 to 48 hours post-treatment but most patients see a reduction in erythema after 24 hours of treatment.
  • Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (e.g. sunbeds, saunas, sunbathing) or extreme cold.
  • A small amount of Arnica Gel may be applied to any bruises up to 4 times daily after the initial 24 hours.
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.
  • If you have any concerns, please contact us at any time.
Platelet Rich Plasma
  • Immediately following the procedure, the most commonly reported temporary side effects are redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, tingling, numbness, lumpiness, and/or a feeling of pressure or fullness at the injection sites and/or in the treated area(s).

To Maximise Results and Prevent Complications:

  • Avoid scrubbing the injection sites for at least 24 hours. Starting on the morning after your treatment and for the next several days; wash your face gently with a mild cleanser once to twice daily. After several days, you may return to your regular skincare routine.

After Care of Topical Application of PRP associated with PRP Hair Restoration:

  • To Maximise Results: For a minimum of 5 hours after the PRP has been applied to your skin, do NOT: wash your skin, expose the treated area/s to direct high heat, or engage in activities that will get you wet or cause you to sweat (e.g. blow dryer, sun exposure, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, very hot shower, strenuous exercise, etc.)

  • For Scalp applications, use a sulphur-free shampoo and conditioner on your scalp starting the next morning after PRP at the earliest.
Chemical Peel
  • Wash your face with cool water. Warm or hot water might not feel as good as cool or cold water, which can help soothe post-peel sensations.
  • Moisturise and hydrate. Since peels can temporarily compromise your skin’s protective barrier, it’s important to reinforce that barrier with a medium-to-thick moisturiser. Also, drink more water to help avoid dehydration, which could make your skin feel tight.
  • Apply sun cream with SPF30 or more. Your skin is more delicate after a peel, so avoid direct sun exposure, which can lead to even more visible signs of skin ageing. If you must be exposed, use a Broad Spectrum physical sun cream.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and steam rooms. Increased blood circulation to the face can intensify warming, tingling, itching, redness, peeling or other uncomfortable side effects on freshly peeled skin. Skip such activities on the day you use a peel.
  • Don’t over-exfoliate. Peels are maximum-strength exfoliants, so you don’t need to use a separate exfoliant (like a scrub, brush or exfoliating cleanser) within 3-4 days of your peel. Over-exfoliating can lead to more redness or sensitivity, so wait until your skin feels up to it.
  • Once your skin feels “back to normal” after a peel, it’s generally considered OK to resume your normal skin care regimen. For more personalised advice, ask your professional skin therapist how to incorporate peels into your lifestyle.
Vitamin B12 Injections
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours after your treatment.
  • Avoid touching the injection site for 6 hours after your treatment.
  • You may experience a dull ache at the injection site for around 1 hour after the treatment.
  • Avoid any blood thinning medication.
  • Expect minimal swelling and bruising around the injection site.
  • To maintain the benefits of the B12 injections, we recommend a course of 4 loading dose injections to be taken weekly, and then once every 3 months thereafter.
  • You do not need to take any vitamin B12 supplements alongside the treatment.
Hydrafacial

Dermalux LED Therapy
  • Following your LED Phototherapy treatment, apply the recommended skin care products, which should include SPF protection (daytime only).
  • However, if LED Phototherapy has been used in conjunction with other aesthetic procedures, specific aftercare advice should be followed.
  • Make-up can be applied immediately following LED Phototherapy.
  • However, we recommend the use of mineral-based formulations that allow the skin to breathe.
  • Drink plenty of water to maintain hydration levels and aid the lymphatic system to eliminate toxins.
  • In the unlikely event that any adverse reaction occurs following treatment, please contact us within 24 hours for advice..
  • To maximise results, we would recommend a course of 4-6 treatments over the course of 2 weeks, especially for skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, pigmentation, redness, and inflammation and wound healing.

Hydrafacial

“First time I had Lip Fillers so I was really scared and didn’t know what to expect but Leanne made me feel so comfortable and thoroughly went through absolutely everything with me before I went ahead. I love my lips and had all the fine lines filled in around the sides of my mouth too, will be back definitely. xx”

Have just had my checkup after first (definitely not the last) treatment with Leanne. Cannot recommend her highly enough. I did a lot of research before getting my treatment and it certainly paid off. Leanne is very professional and also one of the nicest people I have met, she made me feel totally reassured and relaxed. Will definitely be back. Can’t stop looking at the photos as the results are amazing. Thank you Leanne.

Could not recommend Leanne enough! She was so welcoming and so informative, put you very at ease and knows her stuff! Before the procedure, she told you everything you needed to know and more, and after she was on call any time of the day to help you with any potential concerns or questions! I would highly recommend Leanne to anyone thinking about getting lip fillers. I absolutely love the outcome of my lips!

I had my treatment with Leanne back in August and I am over the moon with the end result. I was slightly apprehensive about getting the treatment but Leanne completely put me at ease the moment I walked through the door. The procedure itself wasn’t anywhere near as bad as I thought it would be and the aftercare was second to none. I will definitely be back! Thanks Leanne!
